Natural Horsemanship / Rubins Progress

The previous ground work has really paid off. Today we introduced Rubin to a saddle.
The result as the photograph shows was totally successful. He remained calm throughout the process and had to be asked to trot on and did not buck once.

Well done Rubin!!!

Natural Horsemanship Training

Rubin joined Fir Tree Stud before christmas, he is a three year old Section D, who has been mishandled before his owner Michelle bought him last summer.
He was very timid and paniced in a variety of situations. We set about building his confidence and his desire to be around humans.
This achieved, we started to move him around the arena and from that, we have started to do some desensitisation work with him.

We thought he might be very frightened by the plastic bags on the end of the stick, but as often happens, the situations that he hadnt experienced previously, prove less daunting than trying to re-learn the basics.

Merry Christmas from Fir Tree Stud!

Fir Tree Studs Christmas gathering at the Red Lion, Holme on Spalding Moor, was a very festive occasion. It was a welcome opportunity, to shed three layers of clothes and our wellie boots! As you can see from the photos, a good time was had by all. Party games explain why small children are being lifted to the roof!!

Williams 7'9" FTS RUG!!!

Mary Lunn had a bit of a problem! William her much loved 19hh Shire has never had a rug. She had tried to get him one before but had always been unsuccessful. FTS RUGS had a word with our supplier and arranged to have two 7'9" rugs specially made.
William looks very cosy in his new rugs, and Mary is delighted "Many Thanks, I never thought I would get a rug to fit him!"
Mary lives near Fir Tree Stud, so we popped down the road and took some photos because we are rather pleased to have been able to help Mary and William with their problem.

FTS RUGS goes on!!

FTS RUGS was well and truely snowed in, but, we still managed to get the orders out by pushing wheel barrows a quarter of a mile to the road!

Winter arrives at Fir Tree Stud!

We cant remember when it last snowed so much, but today, everyone went out and enjoyed themselves anyway!
