Hard work and persistence pays off!

DARCY

When Darcy came to stay with us in S
eptember 2009, he had problems. Abused as a youngster, and rescued by his owner Mel, he had never really got over his early traumas.
He did not trust people and was difficult to handle on the floor, and not rideable. Using natural horsemanship methods initially to gain his trust, and to teach him to work with us, and then of late more classical methods in riding, we, with Mel have finally taken him away from home to Port Royal, our local competition centre, where we hired the arena and schooled and jumped him. Mel said she never believed she would see the day, but we are there!
After a few
more practices he will now be going to his first proper competition!!

Here are a few pictures of Darcy's first day out!

WILLOW

Willow arrived approximately 8 week
s ago, unhandled and unbroken. She is an unraced thoroughbred with a gentle nature, who we have started on behalf of Karen and Elizabeth. They hope after riding her with us here, to take her home to their yard very soon. We are totally delighted with how sweetly this mare is going.
